Vanitas. Moments of Eternity
My photographic practice focuses on fine art still life, drawing deeply from the aesthetics and philosophical concerns of Romanticism. My work reimagines the universal theme of Vanitas—a historical genre that employs symbolic objects to reflect on the transience of existence and the fleeting nature of earthly pleasures. Through my lens, I transform the composition into a contemporary memento mori, inviting the viewer into a profound meditation on life’s impermanence.
Each piece is the result of a meticulous staging process. The compositions are carefully choreographed, featuring objects chosen for their symbolism and texture. The most crucial phase is the lighting, inspired by the Chiaroscuro technique: the scene is dramatically brought forth from the darkness through a deliberate painting with light. This approach not only evokes the austere atmosphere of the Old Masters but also infuses the scene with a sense of mystery and a dimension of spiritual sacredness.
I create these photographs as an urgent invitation to pause the frenzy of daily life. The modern Vanitas is a call to recognize our nature as beings who are "merely passing through". The awareness of fragility is not a bleak warning, but rather a spiritual catalyst: it is only by accepting transience that we can truly appreciate the beauty and intrinsic value of the present moment. Ultimately, my works serve as a meditation on the profound connection between the fleeting and the eternal.
Whiteness is not absence, but the sum of every heartbeat before the silence. A visual melody that sings the glory of all that is about to fade.

To be born, to shine, to surrender: three acts of a single dance unfolding between the gold of the vessel and the darkness of the wait.
Nothing truly vanishes; everything is transformed into echoes and earthly stardust. Every fallen petal is an atom of eternity returning to nourish the silence.

Even in decline, color screams its story. We are like this rose: precious not because we are eternal, but because we are capable of burning with passion until our very last breath.
We are fleeting beings, suspended between a vanishing fullness and a void that makes us whole. Pause to look at the weight of your days: true beauty is the moment still shining on the balance.

Darkness and time carry an inexorable weight, yet the spirit vibrates with an opposing power. True victory lies in inhabiting the present with such intensity that every other measure becomes irrelevant.
